THRIVE VILLAGE

What is THRIVE Village?

Overview

Thrive Village is a food and health justice concept that provides access to affordable housing, health care and healthy foods. Located in the East Parkside neighborhood of West Philly. 


Thrive Village is being developed as part of a holistic equitable development investment by Ujima Developers, LLC.  Is zoned as a mixed-use building with 9 apartments and almost 4000 sq. ft of commercial space. The total project includes an assemblage of 8 vacant lots that have been consolidated to represent the development site.

The THRIVE Village Impact

Thrive village provides food and health access solutions while creating a community space supporting positive growth and development. It consists of:

Thrive Medical (Wellness)

Thrive Medical, LLC is a Black-owned and operated health care practice that provides occupational medicine, physical therapy, and restorative health modalities. This business is an expansion of an existing practice with 2 locations in Washington D.C. and Maryland. Two of the owner-operators, Drs. Raymond and Phillip Ragland, were born and raised in West Philly. Thrive Medical will serve a range of patients in the Philadelphia area. In partnership with community organizations, Thrive Medical is committed to community health impact.

Thrive Cafe

Thrive Café is a neighborhood center café for adults in life transitions. The café will feature Thrive Coffee and Roaster.  The Café will serve as a transition program for formerly incarcerated men and women from the neighborhood.

Ms. Elsie's Porch

Ms. Elsie's Porch is an outdoor eating and community space that will feature family-centered outdoor games and eating.

Food as Medicine Park

The FAM (Food As Medicine) Lot is a curated food truck lot that will feature healthy organic low sodium natural prepared foods. The  6000 sq. ft of exterior space will serve as an innovative outdoor food court with curated food trucks and food retail options for the neighborhood and community.
